Greetings: I completed a clean install from Vista to Win 7 on my Dell XPS M1330. One addiittonal piece of information: the system has a 64 bit processor. That software recognizes my machine and automatically gets the correct drivers for all the parts. I did the job quickly using ThinkVantage System Update software. We would also recommend you to look at the windows 7 64-bit compatible laptop reviews and technical service guide. THen everything seemed to work better. You can however install a null driver instead. I used a disc I bought from the local market. You should now download all your drivers and store them on a cd, so you have them for future installs. My PC doesn't seem to have any connection to the internet. Save it on your PC. Its been awhile since this happened but i believe our Universal Printer driver from HP was corrupt. Any questions, just ask : I have no recovery partitions. RISG, I have the same PC, was running Windows XP-pro, upgradied to 64 bit Windows 7-pro, and experienced the same problem.
